Newly released undercover video shows the steps PP takes to sell fetal body parts--up to the 6th month; ALSO due to a lack of informed consent, a young detransitioner is suing PP on their policies.
Recently, I came across two articles regarding Planned Parenthood that I consider to be quite discomfiting: (1) their laissez-faire attitude and sometimes gleeful descriptions discussing the dismemberment of unborn babies (up to six months!), balancing on the precipice of the federal ban against partial-birth abortion; and (2) providing “gender-affirming care” to “confused” young people who largely are struggling with mental health issues, particularly autism and ADD.

From the New York Post article above: A pro-life activist investigated for criminal activity by then-California Attorney General Kamala Harris in 2015 released undercover footage Tuesday [August 6, 2024] showing Planned Parenthood executives apparently discussing the sale of body parts from late-term fetuses, some of which had been delivered alive and mostly intact.
David Daleiden [my bold] of the Center for Medical Progress (CMP), who posed with a colleague as laboratory wholesalers at the National Abortion Federation’s commercial trade show in 2015, videotaped two conversations with Dr. Ann Schutt-Ainé, the chief medical officer of Planned Parenthood Gulf Coast, and Tram Nguyen, RN, the branch’s vice president of abortion access.
While the CMP has always contended that Daleiden’s videos revealed illegalities, Planned Parenthood said at the time the initial videos were released that their staffers were discussing legal, not-for-profit donation of fetal tissue to research firms.
But Daleiden claims these newly released videos show even more demonstratively that Planned Parenthood’s talking points at the time were false — and that staff was engaged in wrongdoing.

The second discomfiting article is from The Free Press and shines a light on Planned Parenthood’s offering of “gender-affirming care” (puberty blockers, cross-sex hormones, and their biggest seller, testosterone). They are now facing a lawsuit from detransitioner Cristina Hineman, who asserts that she was not provided informed consent in order to make such an important and life-altering decision.
From the article above: Planned Parenthood was founded a century ago to promote birth control. Today, its nearly 600 clinics nationwide make it the largest single provider of abortion, contraception, reproductive care, and sex education in the U.S.
It has also, in less than a decade, become the country’s leading provider of gender transition hormones for young adults, according to insurance claim data. In 2015, around two dozen of their clinics began offering this service. Now it’s available at nearly 450 locations. Insurance claim information provided to The Free Press by the Manhattan Institute shows that at least 40,000 patients went to Planned Parenthood for this purpose last year alone, a number that has risen tenfold since 2017. The largest proportion, about 40 percent, were 18- to 22-year-olds.

Like many others in the rising wave of female teens seeking to masculinize, she [Cristina Hineman] had been battling a cluster of mental health problems: self-harm, depression, and anxiety. Also like many of these teens, Hineman has autism.

Just over a year into treatment, Hineman realized she had made a terrible mistake, and that gender was not the source of her problems. “I was brainwashed,” she says now. “A lot of people say that adults should be able to do whatever they want. But if you have mental illness that’s clouding your view, or you’re so misinformed about what gender dysphoria even means, then you cannot consent to such invasive treatments.”
Hineman, who went from identifying as “nonbinary” to “agender” to “trans” over the course of a year, now considers herself a “detransitioner”—someone who, if possible, has returned to living as their birth sex, often with medical side effects.
…she is a plaintiff in the first detransitioner lawsuit against Planned Parenthood Federation of America. In the medical malpractice suit, filed in April, she’s seeking unspecified damages for negligence and failure to obtain informed consent from all the health providers—including those at Planned Parenthood—who facilitated her medical transition: from therapists who “encouraged” her desire to change genders, to the plastic surgeon who removed her breasts after a superficial consult when she turned 19, to the nurse practitioner at Planned Parenthood who wrote Hineman the prescription for testosterone. (In June, Planned Parenthood filed its answer to the complaint, disputing Hineman’s claims.)
She joins more than a dozen young people who, in separate lawsuits across the country, are alleging medical malpractice by institutions such as Kaiser Permanente as well as individual practitioners, and are seeking compensation for the harm they claim has been done to them.

I can’t help but wonder: Is the push for abortion and “gender-affirming care” largely due to the insane profits that are garnered, or is it truly for helping women and young people? Planned Parenthood can charge $750.00 for a fetal liver and $1600.00 for a fetal liver and thymus (at least in 2015) for trafficking in fetal body parts. This is in addition to funds received from the federal government for reimbursement of services provided. I also read recently that Lupron, a drug used to suppress puberty (as well as used for other purposes like chemical castration), brings in hundreds of millions every year. 1 (I would love to see the disaggregation of Lupron strictly for its puberty-blocking function.)
I believe these are legitimate questions to ask, and Planned Parenthood should be forthright in answering them.
